ITEM NUMBER, a film by Oliver Husain
Experimenta Film Society in collaboration with GALLERYSKE Oliver Husain will be present for a post screening Q&A Ladies and Gentlemen: The performance that you are about to see will begin in two minutes. The story is laid out for you right here: a straight line. It will unfold exactly like the line I’m walking on right now. A fine line between success, in our terms, and complete disaster. Cast Executive producer Camera Sound design Filmed at Supported by ITEM NUMBER was filmed and produced in Bangalore in 2011 as part of “Twinning Artists—Twinning Cities,” an artist exchange programme conceived in collaboration with Partners in Art and hosted by Experimenta India (Bangalore) and Onsite at OCAD (U) (Toronto). The Toronto exhibition AVALON (January 26 to June 3, 2012), co-curated by Shai Heredia and Charles Reeve, included artists Abhishek Hazra, Yashas Shetty and Bharathesh G D from Bangalore, with collaborative elements by Oliver Husain from Toronto. The exhibition explored fantasy through drama — dreams of flamboyant houses with eclectic facades — mythological imaginings of Kannada cinema — visual explorations of local microorganisms. This premiere screening of ITEM NUMBER in Bangalore is the culmination of the artist exchange programme. PLEASE DO COME AND SPREAD THE WORD…. |
