Experimenta, the international festival for experimental film and moving image art in India invites submissions from filmmakers across Asia. In its 13th edition, the festival seeks films that challenge conventional modes of cinema and extend the parameters of genre and form. Moving image works defined as fiction or non-fiction or hybrid or none of these are welcome. Experimenta does not charge a submission fee.
The deadline for receipt of submissions is 5th July 2026.
Experimenta is a curated, independent, artist-run film festival, and will be held in December in Bangalore, India. Attendance is free and open to all.

Entries from the following countries are welcome: Abkhazia, Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Artsakh, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, Egypt, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, North Cyprus, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, South Ossetia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen
Films and/or filmmakers (including diaspora) from the countries listed above are eligible.
Only films and videos completed after January 1st, 2025 are admissible.
Films and videos of a duration of up to 80 mins are eligible.
All preview copies must be submitted as links to Vimeo, Youtube or any other streaming site.
Please DO NOT submit digital files for download.
All submissions in languages other than English must be subtitled in English – only if language is central to the film’s content.
All preview copies will be added to the festival’s archives.
If submitting more than one entry, please submit a separate form for each film/video.
On completion of the form you will see a message that reads, ‘Thank you! Your response has been recorded’. This means your submission is complete.
The festival reserves the right to excerpt programmed works for online promotional purposes.
Selected filmmakers/artists will be notified if their submission has been accepted and may be contacted anytime after the submission has been received.
The final exhibition format is Hi Res digital file only.
