16mm Cameraless Filmmaking Workshop @ Kochi Biennale

The Experimenta Special Edition: 16mm Cameraless Film Workshop
Facilitated by Gavati Wad (January 6-10, 2026).

This workshop focuses on interpreting 16mm celluloid film as a canvas to create and explore abstract visual realms. Participants will paint, draw, write, make collages and generate sound on celluloid all without touching a camera. The hand-made 16mm films created during the workshop will be screened through a 16mm projector.

BIO

Gavati Wad is an artist and filmmaker working primarily with 16mm celluloid. Her cross-disciplinary practice investigates analog methods of image and sound production, film, video, photography, performance, illustration, and curatorial projects.
